New 007 Magazine launched

Tuesday, October 30th, 2007

A new 007 magazine has just been launched at looks like it’ll be an interesting read.

I haven’t received my copy yet, but it looks like it’s a high class glossy little number with photos throughout. The magazine is called MI6 Declassified and is available by PayPal payment only at the moment.

StomperNet SIMPLE flies again… and then hits turbulance

Thursday, October 18th, 2007

Well after writing my glowing endorsement of Immediate Edge I was now going to tell you how StomperNet seem to be getting their act together.

It was going to be pure praise, but I’ve just found something to grumble about; after being told to sign up to aweber in May, we were never told a what to do with it. Now we’re being told to sign up with 1AutomationWiz instead because it’s much better.

Stompernet SIMPLE says aweber

StomperNet SIMPLE stage B

Stompernet says 1AutomationWiz

StomperNet SIMPLE stage D

It doesn’t affect me because I’m with aweber anyway, but couldn’t someone have sorted this slightly better? It would be good if they now show us how to set up aweber to do all that is promised…

Anyway onto the positives. First of all we have some new video content, which although it is late is good to watch. Second, the whole of StomperNet is being revamped so that you get credits to watch so much video content and will be able to purchase additional credits. To date SIMPLE members (that’s $97/month instead of $797) have been able to watch the first 10 minutes of a lot of the content, which gives you a taster…

Anyway, it should mean that we’ll be able to access some of the content for full StomperNet for an additional fee, which is ok in my eyes and suddenly makes it more attractive than it has been for 2 or 3 months.

Sort out the aweber/1AutomationWiz issue and you’re on your way to turning SIMPLE into a worthwhile product.

UPDATE:

The more I think about this the more it pisses me off. There is a link for a special StomperNet deal with 1AutomationWiz of course and like much of the content from StomperNet it makes me think how much they earn off the back of these promotions.

Immediate Edge update

Thursday, October 18th, 2007

Dan Raine posted the mind map for the Maximum Edge Redux last night for Immediate Edge members and I can’t wait to get into it and working.

One of my internet marketing weaknesses has been picking the right niches to enter and Dan, having recognised that this is a huge issue for many people, plans on addressing it.

Obviously since Immediate Edge is a membership site I won’t reveal too much about it other than to say - I love it so far!

I’ll update this blog with the results, good or bad, but I’d like to have at least one more big paying site up and running within the next 6 months.

Immediate Edge

Tuesday, October 16th, 2007

I’ve just been listening to the Immediate Edge Q&A session between Dan Raine and Ed Dale covering a ton of questions mainly by new members. The session is a couple of hours or so, but covers a lot of ground so well worth it - you could always join the gym.

There are so great projects coming up and I love the hands on approach, so really want to hone my internet marketing skills over the next few months. Immediate Edge is currently $97/month and so far worth every penny.

75th Anniversary of the Circuit de Montjuic

Monday, October 15th, 2007

This weekend Barcelona celebrated the 75th Anniversary of the Circuit de Montjuic, with a lovely selection of racing cars from across the decades. We went to watch the cars in action on Sunday, including Emerson Fittipaldi putting his Lotus from 1973 through it’s paces, and Michael Schumacher’s Ferrari from last year was also there.

The old Nou Camp

Barcelona football tickets

I don’t quite know what to think about the Nou Camp redevelopment plans, but the stadium certainly needs to be covered.

I’ve been to see FC Barcelona play numerous times and sometimes take a camera with me. This is from about 4 years ago I think and shows the view from the top tier. The advantage is that you get a great atmosphere and a good overview of the pitch. The trouble is you’re too far away. But it’s much better up there than in some areas and if you take binoculars you’re laughing.

Wordpress 2.3 update - failed

Saturday, October 6th, 2007

I updated my Wordpress install to 2.3 earlier today, but it didn’t work well at all and so I’m back to whichever version I was on before. I see that quite a number of people have experienced a similar problem with a database error and will wait for the dust to settle a bit until I retry.

What is a niche market?

Friday, October 5th, 2007

I’ve been reading Mike Mindel’s excellent blog for the 30 Day Challenge and one of the things that struck me was how he struggled to define a niche market. Now Mike doesn’t seem like he’s overly mentally challenged and in fact understanding what a market is - and even what marketing really is - are concepts that many marketers struggle with too. SEO talk at Restaurante Namaste, Barcelona

Thursday, October 4th, 2007

Just back from eating a great Indian chicken curry recipe at Restaurante Namaste in Barcelona with Dan. Almost went to the wrong restaurant as there are 2 of the same name and only one shows up in Google, but we talked to the owner at the end about his website which turns out not to be indexed. (more…)
