What is there to say? I moved from the UK to Barcelona in 2001 after saying goodbye to my day job and moving here to live with the woman of my dreams.

Regrets?

I’ve had a few. But then again, too few to mention

Okay I will then. Curry. Cooked with a decent amount of chilli. And Marmite. Coleman’s mustard. And I can live without all of those when I choose. Or buy them online. But life is really tough.

Is it better here?

No. I mean yes – see woman of my dreams comment above. She makes it better.

Is it different?

Certainly.

Is it for you?

I have no idea. If you think a bit of warm weather and cheap booze will suit you then it will. For a while, anyway – until your liver packs up. If you can dive into the culture and forget about spending all your time with ex-pats it might.
